Most things seam to still be in working ordered, but I am a newbe, and I have just started with the program. Is this a issue I should be concerned with or can I continue exploring the program? Or is there I fix for this issue?

This message is the result of the port you specified in the X-10 setup not being available on your computer.  It's possible that the port is actually there but already open by another application.  What port did you choose for your CM17A?  Also, what controller number is the CM17A assigned to?  Did you assign the same port to another controller in either the X-10 or IR setup screens?  PowerHome does not support the passthrough ability of the CM17A and only allows one controller per port.
